Now, it is our pleasure to share with you some great news.  Our WICT Northern California advisor, Shane Portfolio, winner of last year's Advocate of the Year Award, has been promoted to lead Engineering and Technical Operations for the entire Comcast West Division!  While we will miss Shane's leadership, we are excited for his promotion and move to Denver. Shane is a big supporter of WICT and we were very lucky to have him locally as our advisor.  His continued support of WICT, inspiring leadership ability and willingness to help has made us a stronger chapter.  Our WICT Board of Directors will miss him dearly, but we know, he is only a phone call away to connect.  We are very proud of Shane!

Summer Event Recap

The 2015 WICT Northern California Golf Tournament was a roaring success!

July's tournament drew in high level executives, sponsors and golfers from Comcast, Home Shopping Network, Pac-12 Networks, SEFNCO, CableCom, Comcast Tech Ops, O.C. Communication, All Systems Broadband, Participant Media, Discovery, Power & Tel, O2 Creations, One World Sports, AMC, Starz, Pure Ambition, Demi Rose Salon, Dynamic Staffing, Square One Promotions, Outdoor Channel, Pedroncelli Wines, and private donations by Chad Marin, Daryl Rossi, and our Golf Pro - Corey Criner.  We gratefully acknowledge the amazing sponsors and volunteers who made this year's tournament such a big hit!
Here's some of the great feedback you shared with us:

"I liked that there was something different at every hole, and we were given the opportunity to obtain more raffle tickets - the raffle prizes were great, and it was just fun to see your co-workers outside of their element, it's obvious some had never played golf, which caused us much laughter at each hole."  (Angie Fregoso)
"We really enjoyed the games/raffle chances at multiple holes. The place was beautiful and had great views. We had a blast trying to get the hang of golfing, it really helped playing Best Ball."  (Joanna Culpepper)
"I think the only thing you should change for the next event is the weather. I would also like you to know - I am available for every golf event ever."  (Mike Doolin)

And congratulations to the tournament's winning team this year - Pac-12 Networks!

We also enjoyed great feedback from this year's Taste Of WICT networking event.  You told us that last year's venue was a winner and we listened.  So in June, we returned to the beautiful rooftop at The 360 on Third Street in San Francisco for another evening of fabulous views, wine, food and motivation.

To bring you even more this year, we added a panel of industry leaders to share words of wisdom and open the floor for attendees to ask questions.  The result was a dynamic dialogue between the panel and audience that gave everyone valuable take-aways to put into practice right away.  Topics ranged from confidence, to career advancement strategies, to making your voice heard and "keeping it 100."  And much more!

We can't thank our panel of speakers enough for their contributions.  We are so grateful to our moderator Ingrid Nelson (Comcast Spotlight) and our speakers Margret Schmidt (TiVo), Kimberly Jackson (Comcast), Lillian Casares (Pac-12 Networks) and Cheryl Cox (Comcast Spotlight).  And thanks for the amazing support of our events sponsors O.C. Communications, Comcast Business B4B Built for Business, Nth Connect Telecom Inc., Private Eyes Employment Investigations, Dynamic Office & Accounting Solutions, Pac-12 Networks and Xfinity.
